Dice Roller

Simulate rolling one or more dice for games and probability experiments.

What is the Dice Roller?

ToolsPopper's Dice Roller simulates tabletop RPG dice and classic six-sided rolls directly in your browser. Pick a die type from D4 through D20, choose how many dice to throw (1–10), and hit Roll to see every face value plus a running total — all without digging through a junk drawer for missing dice.

Rolls are computed locally on your device. No results are uploaded, stored, or tied to an account, so your campaign sessions and probability experiments stay private.

Which dice can you roll?

  • D4 — tetrahedral dice common in RPGs
  • D6 — standard six-sided dice for board games
  • D8, D10, D12 — polyhedral sets for tabletop combat and damage
  • D20 — the iconic twenty-sider for skill checks and attacks

How the Dice Roller works

Select a die type, drag the slider to set the dice count, and click Roll. Each die gets an independent random value from 1 to the selected side count. Individual results appear as visual chips, and the summary line lists every roll with their combined sum.

How to roll dice online

  1. Tap the die type you need (D6 for Yahtzee, D20 for D&D, etc.).
  2. Adjust the number-of-dice slider — roll one die or a full pool of ten.
  3. Click Roll and read the individual faces and total.
  4. Roll again as many times as you want with no daily limit.

Frequently Asked Questions

Common questions about Dice Roller

Is the online dice roller free?

Yes. Roll as many times as you like — ToolsPopper never charges or limits daily usage.

Can I roll more than one die at a time?

Yes. Use the slider to roll between 1 and 10 dice of the same type. Each die is independent, and the tool adds them up for you.

Are dice rolls truly random?

Rolls use JavaScript Math.random(), which is pseudo-random and fine for games, teaching probability, and casual RPG sessions. It is not suitable for gambling systems or cryptographic purposes.

Is my rolling history saved anywhere?

No. Results exist only in your browser session. ToolsPopper does not upload rolls or require an account.

What is the difference between D10 and D20?

A D10 produces values 1–10; a D20 produces 1–20. D20 rolls are standard for many tabletop RPG attack and skill checks, while D10s often handle percentile or damage tables.

Can I use this for Dungeons & Dragons?

Absolutely. Select D20 for attack rolls, D6 for damage dice, or any polyhedral type your character sheet requires. Roll as many dice as the spell or weapon specifies.

Does the dice roller work on iPhone and Android?

Yes. Open the page in mobile Safari or Chrome, pick your die type, and tap Roll — no app install needed.

How does this compare to physical dice?

Virtual dice eliminate lost dice and biased rolls from worn edges, though purists may still prefer tactile rolls. For remote play over video chat, an online roller keeps everyone on the same fair random source.
